The Consolidated Tape Association advised that the price dissemination issues that originated at SIAC for symbols MTD (Mettler-Toledo International, Inc.) and WTM (White Mountain Insurance Group, Inc.) experienced on Monday, October 9, 2017, will be resolved for the start of the trading day on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

The Chicago Stock Exchange halted trading in issues MTD (Mettler-Toledo International, Inc.) and WTM (White Mountain Insurance Group, Inc.) at 10:23am CT. Due to quoting issues at SIAC, all market centers other than NYSE Group market centers are halting these issues.

The Chicago Stock Exchange is halting all issues traded out of the NY4 Data Center at 12:11pm CT. We expect to resume trading in these issues shortly and will send another message when we resume trading.

On Thursday, May 11, CHX halted trading in the 78 issues that trade in its Ch3 datacenter as a result of a network issue experienced in that datacenter that caused failures in inbound market data processing. CHX experienced an initial problem at approximately 9:30 CT, halted trading in Tape A and Tape B issues that trade at Ch3 at 10:38, halted trading in Tape C issues at 11:39, and resumed trading in all of these issues at 11:50 with all issues trading out of the CHX NY4 datacenter. Trading in the NY4 datacenter was not impacted by this problem.
CHX has worked with its network vendor to identify the cause of this problem but has been unable to do so based on the network logs captured during the problem. CHX has implemented additional network diagnostic tools to assist with cause identification should a similar problem recur. Additionally, CHX resolved the issue and continued to internally process market data in its Ch3 datacenter for the remainder of the day without issue. Consequently, all 78 issues that normally trade out of the Ch3 datacenter will return to trading from that location on Friday, May 12.
CHX will closely monitor the trading process in its Ch3 datacenter and react quickly to resolve any recurrence.
CHX apologizes for any difficulty today’s problems caused and is grateful for your continued support.

At 11:50am CT, the Chicago Stock Exchange will resume trading those issues that were previously halted. These issues will now trade out of its NY4 datacenter. During the period August 1 through October 13, 2011, CHX experienced a problem in handling its BBO ISO order type within the CHX Matching System which caused orders of this type to be cancelled upon receipt rather than executed. This problem impacted only orders specifically identified as the BBO ISO order type; orders specified as Price-Penetrating ISO or as ISO but without a specific CHX ISO type were not impacted. Trades in the stock EWT were executed in error after a regulatory Halt at 14.25.50. Trades in the stock EWT Ishares MSCI Taiwan Fund executed after 14.25.50 Central Time will be busted. This decision cannot be appealed.
